Samhainphobia – The Fear Of Halloween
Zombies try to eat us and turn us into the walking dead if they do not finish their meal. Vampires drain us of our lifeblood, and if they choose, will wake us into their world of thirst that cannot be slaked. Witches screech a lot and make potions, and turn us into frogs. I'm not quite sure what mummies do, but I understand they are not very nice. Ghosts chill us to our very souls. All of these things are dead and mean us harm, and it is quite sensible to fear them.
Halloween, however, is supposed to be a bit of fun, celebrating all the fictional above with decorations, fancy dress, silly games, and trick-or-treating. Yet it strikes fear into the hearts of many people, so many in fact that we have a name for it: Samhainphobia – the fear of Halloween.
I won't go into the causes of Samhainphobia, as the subconscious is not logical, and the reasons for the subconscious generating a phobic reaction at this time each year will vary from person to person. The symptoms of Samhainphobia will vary from person to person, too. It is a fear reaction, but one person's fear differs from another person's fear.
The important thing is that, as with any phobic reaction, that fear seems very real to the person suffering it, and it can be most debilitating.
There is a good chance that hypnosis can resolve Samhainphobia, as it can any other phobia. If you come and see me for hypnosis in Worthing, treatment is not generic to Samhainphobia or whichever phobia ails you. Hypnosis is a problem-solving process that is tailored to the mind of the client, and results can often be achieved very quickly.
